FAQ

HYROX is the fitness race for Every Body. If you are over 16 years old and want to take on the challenge, you are more than welcome at HYROX.  With Pro, Open, Doubles and Relay Divisions, there is a race for every one. There are no maximum time caps or qualifications necessary. Did you know that our oldest competitor is 73 years old and still going strong.

HYROX is growing rapidly around the world and new countries and cities are constantly being added to the calendar. HYROX is normally organized in large indoor expo venues to make sure we can host as many athletes as possible. With over 12.000m2 of fitness, HYROX would cover 3 soccer pitches!

In order to qualify for the HYROX World Championships, you need to participate in any of our 45 races.  Depending on your division and age group, a certain number of Qualifying slots are awarded at each race.  If you are one of those great performers, you will receive an invitation and have up to 48 hours to claim your spot, otherwise it will be allocated to the next competitor. Please note that there are no qualification spots for the HYROX Relay. At the HYROX World Championships in Las Vegas in 2022, there were over 1.200 participants from 21 countries.

There are eleven age groups within the individual divisions, five age groups within the doubles division and 2 for the Relay.  The age groups are broken down as follows:

Your start time will be emailed to you a week prior to the event so make sure you keep an eye out. You will also receive the Athlete Guide with all the official and practical information needed. Each division has their own start time slots. The time slots for the divisions will be communicated earlier so you have an indication of your start time. It is recommended that you arrive 90 minutes before your start time in order to allow enough time to register and warm up.

HYROX is an official sport with global rankings and results. Please click on the links below to view the competition rulebooks for the different divisions.

As HYROX is a race for Every Body, we have tried to make the exercises as
accessible as possible, so although there are basic movement standards, it
should be easily executed.

This will depend on your fitness level. The average HYROX finisher time last season was 1H:32M.  But the race has no time cap, there were finishers taking 3 hours whilst Hunter Mcintyre and Lauren Weeks hold the HYROX World Record in 55 and 63 minutes respectively.

The train section of the website provides you with all the necessary information. Whether you want to train at home, at a local HYROX partner gym or through a digital fitness app, there are several ways to get HYROX ready.  Interestingly, we are working with the University of Hamburg and are evaluating the strength vs endurance ratio of training and competing.  Results so far show it is perfectly balanced.

Spectators are absolutely welcome and nothing greater than racing in front of your friends and family.   Spectator tickets can be purchased online.

No, spectator tickets are not personalized. Just show your spectator ticket at the spectator registration at the event venue, and you will receive a yellow wristband for spectator access.

There is also an option to purchase spectator tickets on-site. Payment is by card only.

Add “Race with a Friend” to your shopping cart when you place your order if you want to make sure you start with friends or family members at the same time (that means in the same starting wave). Whether it’s a head-to-head race or emotional support – Race with a Friend makes it possible! Important: You can start together with another athlete in the same starting wave, as long as you register for the same SINGLE division (not cross-gender). Only one participant has to pay the additional fee.

You can purchase event photos while buying your ticket. If you don’t do this during ticket purchase, don’t worry.

1-2 days after the event, you’ll receive an email with a link where you can view your race photos and make a purchase.

All changes to the ticket must be made or reported at least 8 days before the event, which means by Thursday of the week preceding the week in which the event takes place

Unfortunately, you cannot change the division of your ticket for a specific event. This is only possible when transferring the ticket to another event or in the case of the DOUBLES division when one of the participants cannot take part in the race. Changes can be made no later than 8 days before the event. Requests made after this deadline will not be processed.
For more details on the changes you can make to your ticket, please refer to the next question, “I cannot start. What changes can I make to my ticket?”

You can make selected changes to your ticket up to 1 week before the event. For more detailed information, please read the Terms and Conditions (paragraph 4 Exchange/Rebooking). In general, the following changes to your booking are possible:

Option A: Change of participant (provided that gender and event remain unchanged). This is subject to a transfer fee of 60 PLN + system fee.

Option B: Change of event within races in a given region where registration is already open and spots are not sold out. When changing the event, you can also change the division. This is subject to a transfer fee of 60 PLN + system fee and paying the difference in the ticket price (if you switch to a cheaper ticket, the difference will not be refunded).

Option C: Changing the division for the current event is generally NOT possible, except in one specific case: A DOUBLES ticket can be converted into a single ticket if one team member becomes ill. Please note this will invalidate the 2nd starting ticket without a refund.

Each ticket change is subject to a transfer fee of 60 PLN (+ system fee). Ticket refunds are possible within 14 days of purchase, but no later than 8 days before the event.

How to request a booking change:

Option A: You can now easily change the ticket holder yourself: Open the email HYROX sent after purchasing the ticket. Click the “Activate ticket(s)” button, and you will be redirected to the confirmation page. There, you will find your reserved tickets. Click the grey arrow for the ticket you want to change, then “Change personalization.” You will now be asked to pay the transfer fee. The ticket will be reset, and you can enter the new participant’s data. To send the ticket to another person, simply copy the URL and forward it.

Option B: You can transfer your ticket to another event yourself: Open the email HYROX sent after purchasing the ticket. Click the “Activate ticket(s)” button, and you will be redirected to the confirmation page. There, you will find your reserved tickets. Click the grey arrow for the ticket you want to change, then click the “Rebook” button, and you will be redirected to the event selection page, then choose a new ticket.

Option C: Contact the support team of our new ticketing portal using this link: https://pl.hyrox.com/support

You have the possibility to create an account with your email address. In the account you will find an overview of your races including order confirmation and tickets. So nothing gets lost! In addition, it records your personal data, which saves time when filling out the form for later bookings. Of course you can also book as a guest.

Important: HYROX takes place in different regions/countries. We work with separate booking systems for each country. This means that you have to create a separate account for each country for the respective events of a country. An account for your cross-country events is unfortunately not possible.

Our HYROX Customer Service team is always there to help and answer any questions you might have. Please fill in the contact form and allow up to 2 business days for a response.
